Men’s Prayer Group

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. — Philippians 4:6 (ESV)

The Men’s Prayer Groups are groups of men that gather every week to pray. At present we meet on Friday mornings from 6:30 – 8:00 AM in the church library. If Friday mornings don’t work for you, we also have a group which meets on Tuesday evenings at 8:30 PM in the high school.

Men of all ages and experiences are welcome. Usually every man who desires will have an opportunity to pray at our meetings. You may opt out of adding your voice to the prayer, if you are uncomfortable with praying in public or for any other reason.

Prayer group usually begins with one member sharing a scripture passage along with some reflections. We have a general, open discussion about the topic at hand and discuss how we can pray for that topic. Then each person is given an opportunity to present prayer requests. We will generally pray for each other, our church, our church’s members, especially those who are sick or struggling, our church’s leadership, other churches nearby or far away, mission work, our society, our government, and other current causes of either concern, thanksgiving, and praise.

Prayer group is first of all about offering our prayers to God, prayers of praise, of thanks, of confession, and petition. It is a great time of growth in God’s Word and in prayer. It is also a great time of fellowship and bonding with other men in our congregation, and a great way to carry each other’s burdens.

If you are man, you are more than welcome to join us at Men’s Prayer Group. For more information, contact Bob Onderwater.
