Home Mission Committee

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. — Acts 1:8 (ESV)

The Home Mission Committee is set up by council to fulfill a three-fold mandate. One goal is to provide opportunities and encouragement for the members of the church to reach out with the good news of the gospel to those who do not know Christ.

Another goal of the committee is to provide facilitate outreach. Outreach to the community will not necessarily involve explaining the gospel, though hopefully it will provide opportunities for this. With outreach we try to let people know about our church, and we reach out with acts of kindness to the community, so that our good works might adorn the gospel and the lost might glorify God.

The third goal of the committee is to facilitate in-reach. As a large congregation, it is important that people do not feel unconnected. The committee aims to provide opportunities for new relationships to be made and strengthened. Events like Dine-n-Dash, Love Your Church, and more are designed with this purpose in mind.

The committee members are appointed by council, but if you feel that you would like to serve in this area, please contact the committee. Watch the church calendar for information on upcoming events!
