Pipe Organ Tour (4:00 PM)

Date:

Saturday, May 23, 2015

Time:

4:00pm

Location:

Sanctuary, with refreshments later.

Description:

The local chapter of the RCCO (organist association), planned the 2015 Organ Tour. This year in the Fraser Valley.

If you would like to know more about organs, or you like organs, or you play a few (or more notes): please join us! Everyone can play all these organs! You want to see the pipes as well? You may have to "crawl" inside the organs (these tours are also known "organ crawls").

Starting in White Rock (Good Shepherd) at 1:00 PM, we stop at our own Maranatha CanRC in Surrey, to end up in our own Langley CanRC.

Great chance to compare the 3-manual Koppejan organ in White Rock with the 3-manual organ in Maranatha. But keep the Maranatha sound in mind when you go to Langley and compare the sound for these Casavant instruments that differ almost 100 years!

In Langley we will have pictures about the installation and the organ drawings on display. Usually we have a blast spending an afternoon playing, listening, feeling and touching organs.

Young people, piano or organ... it does not matter: if you like to come along - please do so! Have a piece that you are working on for piano lessons? You can play it on three different organs and find out how it sounds!! Parents: a great opportunity to encourage your children - this is for fun, appreciation, and encouragement.

Just want to listen - please do so!

SATURDAY MAY 23 at 1PM (Cost $ 10.00/day or $5.00/church - but should not be prohibitive). We end around 6PM in Langley and plan to have something to eat there...
