Our Pastors

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. — 2 Timothy 4:2 (ESV)

Our pastors have a large task. The pastors in our church are very busy during the week preparing and preaching sermons, visiting members, teaching classes, leading meetings and much more. Their ministry can be summarized with the following four roles:

  • The first task of the pastor is to proclaim the entire counsel of God – His entire Word. The goal of the Minister of the word is to preach Christ-centred sermons so that the members might find their salvation in Him and in no other.
  • Second, he must administer the sacraments of baptism and the Holy Supper in faithfulness to the instructions of Christ.
  • Third, our pastors are called to pray in public worship services, bringing petitions, intercessions, and thanksgiving to the Lord on behalf of the congregation.
  • Finally, they also administer the leadership of the church, together with the elders, to make sure that all things are done in peace and good order.

It is a beautiful calling that the Lord, the Chief Shepherd has given them. Remember the pastors in your prayers and offer them encouragement in their work!
